Empowering Youth with Digital Skills

For refugees, one of the barriers to modern education is a lack of digital access and skills. In the global economy, digital skills are essential.

In 2018, USA for UNHCR embarked on a partnership with Microsoft, aiming to empower 25,000 refugee and host community youth in Kakuma, Kenya, with digital skills and computer science trainings by 2021. These skills will help equip refugees with the skills they need to participate in a global workforce and generate income, even while displaced.
